Oxney is on route to be the UK’s biggest organic vineyard with another 22,000 vines on order. We are planting in May 2018 and our first crop from the new plants will be after three summers in the Autumn of 2020. The new vines make our planted area 33.5 acres (13.5 hectares), or 54,000 vines. We are planting Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and also Pinot Precoce (an early Pinot Noir). Work has already started with drainage installed every ten meters, deer fencing under construction and ditches cleared up. We will plant in May after the risk of frost and after trellising the routine of vine management will kick in.
